Traveling – on the way to the Holy Land

TJ’s opening thoughts on the beginning of his journey:

Traveling:

I’ve always dreamed about going to be where Jesus had walked his walk and where he talked his talk. But I never really knew what it would be like to actually be there. Now, after a total of around 11 hours in the plane, not counting the long layover period, I am finally “living the dream.” Honestly though, flying gets a bad reputation. People are always complaining about long flights, but I enjoyed every second of it. Because this was my first time on an airplane, international airplane and going out of the country, I had a lot to look forward to! Not to mention my first time to The Holy Land. But when we got off the plane and I took my first step in another country, I instantly fell in love with it. The first thing I wanted was to drop everything right away and go outside of the airport. But unfortunately that’s not how it works… So I went through security and after I went on a wild goose chase to find my suitcase, I was out. As soon as i stepped foot outside the airport I was able to breathe in that fresh, sweet, Israeli air. When we got on our bus to ride to Magdala, I was able to see so many new things: the nature, the people, the cities, the culture and language. Though I will say one of the best things I first noticed was the warmer weather. Walking out of the airport and not noticing the cold, wet, nastiness was like Heaven on Earth.

I am so happy with what I’ve been able to see so far. And I am thrilled to learn more and expand my faith in ways I couldn’t imagine before. It is one thing to read and study the Bible, but to actually be where many of these events occurred is going to be truly eye-opening.

Thank you all for joining with me in this experience that will change my life. I look forward to continue to share and recollect my experiences in The Holy Land you!
