Helping our Neighbors…pt 2

As Helene continues to rack up the damage, we in SW Florida are in the clean up phase. Yesterday I posted about 2 churches in our area that were damaged severely. I mis-heard on one of the churches – Trinity GMC in Charlotte Habor was the church with the damage. I messaged with Pastor Clarice this morning and they have an army of helpers. She asked for prayers at this time.

The other church in need is New Life Church in Punta Gorda. The campus sustained a lot of damage, and they are still working on next steps.

Both churches will need help in the future and there will be a variety of ways to be assist. Trinity is a GMC church and the Florida Conf Faith Responders Team is already working with them (and many of our GMC churches across Florida who experienced damage). New Life is a part of an addition network we at Edgewater belong too (the Sanctification Network) and a fund has already been set up to help them.

Additionally, our friends at Inglewood GMC have had some damage – most notably to Pastor Dan’s parsonage. Faith Responders is helping them as well, but if I hear of any other ways to assist I will update our church family.

I’m thankful to be a part of such a beautiful gift to the world called the Church. In moments like this our prayers take on flesh and strap on work boots. Glory to God for the Body of Christ.
